This Korokoro Akari "Roly Poly Lamp" turns on by tapping it & it automatically switches off after 15 minutes. This was an idea of the designer Rie Isono who had to put her child to sleep with the lights on. Since they were afraid of the dark, they could simply roll the lamp & get 15 minutes of soft light while they fall asleep. The Hokkaido fir used for the shade is carved by hand and thin enough to let the light through. Powered by two AA batteries, so you can travel & camp with it. It makes for a whimsical addition to any children's room.
